The "Another Story" mod is a global modification for the game Gothic 2: Night of the Raven, designed to make the game non-linear, with more choices and consequences. Players can expect an exciting adventure where they must confront a new evil originating from the very beginning of this world. Is it true that the main hero is a servant of Innos? And what is his true mission in this cruel world? You will find out in our modification. In the mod, players will encounter: new locations as well as modified old ones, new characters, quests, equipment, and entire storylines. Almost everything will be changed, but with the preservation of the atmosphere of Gothic. The main storyline of the game will remain the same, but with some changes.

  • Greetings, dear fans!!! It's been a while since our last update, but here's a small message along with our future plans. Over the past month, I've been deeply immersed in studying 3D modeling, and I'll continue to create high-quality locations and models. Some progress has already been made. Furthermore, I've reevaluated my approach to remastering locations and realized that the current method is far from ideal. It lacks diversity and depth. Therefore, I've decided to completely overhaul all locations to offer a wider variety. There will be one global storyline regardless of the Hero's guild. I've also started crafting my own storyline for Jharkendar, as I found its original version lacking logic and cultural depth. Roughly 20% of the plot concerning a new guild, mentioned in Gothic 1, is ready. Druids will play a significant role in this faction. The faction will be presented in two variations depending on whether the Hero chooses the mage or warrior class, with warriors having the option to become druid guardians.

  • Good day, everyone! The holidays have passed, and development on the modification continues with renewed vigor. Not as much progress has been made as initially planned, but here's a brief update: 1) The "Dodger" will now be implemented on par with the warrior and mage classes. Unique equipment pieces, specifically weapons and armor requiring dexterity, will be available for this class (progress at 50%). 2) Weapon damage based on dexterity has been implemented. 3) Armor upgrading by blacksmiths will be introduced in the mod, but not every blacksmith will be able to upgrade the same armor. 4) A new area has been added to Khorinis, linked to an intriguing storyline. Here are some screenshots of this area.

  • The modification will consist of 7 chapters, with one additional chapter dedicated to Jharkendar and the seventh chapter focusing on Irdorath. 2) Player choices will heavily influence the gameplay, with many quests or actions having consequences. 3) Guilds for the main character will no longer serve as mere checkboxes but will play vital roles. Players should also be cautious of their actions, as they could be expelled from a guild and face exile. 4) It will be possible to complete the game without joining a guild through a "lone wolf" path. This path will offer unique features, such as new quests, characters, and options, not available through guild membership or exile. As a minor spoiler, loners may even become bodyguards.

  • Hello to all dear fans! This month has been quite productive. I'm excited to announce the addition of a highly talented 3D modeler, Kit Northman, to our team. Kit is currently working on weapons, and I wish him patience in this endeavor. I want to clarify that weapons from other games will not be included; only enhanced original weapons. Meanwhile, I've been expanding the Jharkendar location, adding several new areas for exploration and quests. I plan to create a dedicated post about weapons in the future.

  • Today's update will focus on weapons, which I believe many people are interested in. As mentioned earlier, all weapons in the game will be from Gothic, with no imports from other games. Additionally, aside from the original weapons, new ones will be added. Our modeler has been hard at work, and I'd like to share some renders of finished two-handed swords. I'm eager to hear your feedback. More posts about weapons will follow in the future.

  • The main storyline concept is finalized and will soon be translated into a script. Here's a brief preview: a sleeper will be involved, but there's a more powerful entity at play. We'll uncover truths about the gods and their chosen ones, known only to a select few. 2) Two new standalone locations from ancient times are complete, accessible approximately in chapters 2-3. 3) Shield combat with appropriate animations, courtesy of Bezio, is being implemented. 4) Undead enemies will be categorized into 3 classes: common undead, lesser undead, and higher undead. This means regular skeletons or walking corpses belong to the common category, shadow warriors and possessed undead (a new type) belong to the lesser category, and shadow lords belong to the higher category. 5) Demons will also be classified as lesser, lord, and arch demons. 6) Some enemies will be invulnerable to regular weapons, such as ghosts, arch demons, and shadow lords. To defeat them, players will need silver, blessed, or magical weapons.

  • We welcome all dear friends, and we would like to introduce you to the new Esmeralda! Our 3D modeler Nikita Kryuk (aka Kit Northman) has done an excellent job, for which we thank him. The new model is twice as large, the ship now has 2 decks and 2 rows of cannons. The number of cannons has been increased from 24 to 50, making it a true paladin warship. Our Esmeralda was inspired by the real galley San Martin with some modifications.

  • Almost completed remaster of all original weapons and several new ones added. 2) One new location completed, with 2 more in progress. 3) Plans for 2 new locations, one of which is in the modeling phase. 4) New territory added in Khorinis. + Preview of one of the books that can be found and read in the mod.

  • Today is a significant day for our team because we have finally completed the remaster of all the original weapons in the game. In honor of this event, we would like to share renders of some finished models with you. All weapons are crafted in a good, Gothic style. Some specific cases will be unique and even have their own story. The armory will also be expanded, with many new weapons of various types added.

  • As we've mentioned before, we are working on creating new armor for our modification. Currently, several sets of armor have been completely finished and inserted into the game. Many more ideas for new armor are in the works. We've also been working for some time on reworking the textures of all animals and monsters. This includes the undead, specifically skeletons, for which a new equipment model has been created. Today, we want to show you the updated texture of the wolf, shadow beast, and one of the new models of the skeleton warrior. There is still plenty of work ahead, and our contribution to this topic will not be the last.

  • Good day, everyone. We want to share the progress in working on character face textures with you. The quality of all faces in the game has been doubled for important characters! Uniquely designed faces will include those of Thorus, Raven, Pyrokara, Saturase, Lee, and others. Our hero has also received new textures. New faces will be created for characters in new locations, which we will share with you in the future.

  • You are all warmly invited. The remaster of Khorinis was completed some time ago, but work on it is still ongoing. Currently, we are working on the project: Khorinis "re-release," in which the locations are developed for the realities of the mod and the needs of the authors. Many things are changing, expanding, or moving during the work. New places and areas related to the story that players can explore are added. Some innovations came from materials provided by developers, and we realized and added them to the story.

  • Good afternoon, everyone. Work on the modification is actively continuing. Recent updates include numerous adjustments to original locations, work on new locations, including refining and polishing. Many new models and textures have been created (e.g., a new priest of the builders and a troll in the screenshots below). Work on combat sounds has also progressed; now weapons of all types sound more convincing. Work on scenarios has also advanced. From the latest news: the story of Master Bosper is almost written. We will tell you more about the work on the scenario (and not only about it) in the New Year's video podcast(!).

  • Many people have been asking about the armor we're preparing. Today, we're pleased to share with you screenshots of three types of new armor. Over time, we've already created quite a few new pieces, including those for female characters, which we'll share with you in the future. All armors are crafted in a gothic style and fit well into the game. As mentioned, all the new armors in the game will be crafted by us and not taken from other sources.

  • We've worked on optimizing performance for better efficiency, with assistance from our colleague modder Liker. Additionally, many interesting and important features have been added.

  • Good afternoon! A brief update on our progress: - There has been significant work on introducing story and quest locations, including both new areas and changes to the vanilla game. Currently, the focus is primarily on continuing work on Khorinis. - The monastery has been revised, with some old rooms revamped and new ones added, rationalizing many elements of daily life. - Minor adjustments have been made to the town; city graveyards have appeared (in new locations!), and the barracks have been reworked within the mod's realism. - New interesting places have been added, which also justify certain events in the game. - Mesh adjustments for locations, texturing, lighting, and much more.   • Good afternoon, everyone! Although it's autumn, we're sending you greetings from the warm southern shores, where active work is underway. Gothic is characterized by many undiscovered moments and untold stories, so there's plenty to build on. There's a brief mention of this mysterious place, but unfortunately, nothing more is known about it or the events of past years. We've decided that in our mod, we'll not only recreate this location but finally provide the player with answers to another small piece of Gothic's mysterious world. Of course, this is our vision of events, inscribed into the lore of the modification. Where will our hero's challenging fate lead him? Write your versions in the comments; I'm curious if anyone will guess.
