Here we have one of the biggest mods for Gothic 1 - Time of Vengeance. This mod offers around 40-60 hours of gameplay, 150 quests and a bunch of new mechanics and new additions to the world of Gothic. The story takes place within chapters four to six of the base game and you play as a pirate.

I would also like to add that the mod has a manually edited google translation, which means that things like NPC names, item names, quest names , stats and menus and a few other catchphrases are manually translated. Some things in the dialogues are also manually edited in bulk.
This mod is a hot candidate for manual translation and AI Czech dubbing, and considering that the mod has no dubbing, there's not even that much dialogue to make it too labored. So who wants to wait can, who doesn't can play like this.. but I won't say the exact timeline when it might be.
