This modification either uses already available material that, while present in the original files, was not used in the game, or adds specially crafted stories that don't deviate too much from the style we know from the base. Many characters that in the original had either only one sentence or no meaning at all have been associated with different quests. These now offer the player additional missions that they can complete outside of the main storyline.
Many players have also complained about bugs in the game. Although the developers of the original game created several patches, some obvious and annoying bugs were never fixed. These include bugs with the lack of sound when animations are triggered, or the inability to complete certain quests. This is also where World of Punishers comes to the rescue. Numerous bugs from the base game have been fixed and the game now gives the impression of a finished production.
Another feature that this modification improves is the role in the game. Already in the original game there were many adventurers who willingly wandered around the colony without any goal, just to enjoy the atmosphere of the game. The problem with the base game, however, was that no one paid attention to which camp our hero belonged to and what position he held in it. In this mode, the characters react to the player differently depending on which camp he chooses to join. Some will treat him kindly, others with respect, others will be hostile to him and not at all afraid to hide it. The player thus feels that he is somewhere in the middle between being ostracized and being a respected member of a particular camp.
In the original, it was just the player all along. The whole environment remained virtually unchanged. The characters have basically been stuck in the same place for the entire game, and haven't made any major moves since the beginning. Once the hero gets past the Barrier, no other NPCs even step up or even get a new weapon or better armor. We've made a big deal about that too, and tried to make the world even more vibrant.
