Story

The nameless hero sailed with his friends on the Esmeralda towards Myrtana, and Lord Hagen undertook a great expedition into the Mining Valley to destroy the Orc army once and for all. But the situation in the former Colony is such that the royal army must retreat. Then, at the pass near Bengar's Farm, there will be a final, decisive battle in which Lord Hagen, Garond and all the other warriors of Innos will fall. When all seems lost, the mages, under the joint leadership of Pyrokar and Saturas, appear to close the pass for good. The mages return to their mansions and enchant access to them, and the last of Innos' warriors take refuge in the port city. On Onar's farm, a young girl who was formerly only for the pleasure of the more powerful begins to control her own destiny. Her name is Velaya. As the play progresses, she evolves from Gomez's former comforter into a fearless advocate for good.

Mod description

  • Velaya - A Warrior's Tale is a modification for Gothic 2: Night of the Raven. It tells the story of Velaya, a famous companion of Gomez. The timeline is set after the original story of Gothic 2.

Velaya offers

  • new story

  • Altered Khorinis

  • lots of old friends

  • several new characters

  • countless quests in a total of four chapters

  • 30 - 40 hours of game time

Skill points

  • Compared to the original Gothic 2: Night of the Raven, there are several changes to the skill system in Velaya mode. The biggest difference is that power is considerably more expensive. One point of strength costs Velaya three skill points, since as a woman she obviously has to put in more effort to be strong enough. Dexterity costs the same as before - 1 point. So most of all you should train Dexterity, one-handed weapon combat, bow and magic is also accessible. The cost of each ability is the same throughout the game and does not increase as in the datadisc. The melee and ranged combat coherencies have been adjusted.

Magic

  • There are no factions in the game, so you can learn magic at will. The teachers are Myxir and Isgaroth and they can teach you the first two circles of Water and Fire magic. It is of course clear who teaches which branch. They are different circles of magic, so if you learn the first circle of Water magic, for example, Isgaroth will still teach you the first circle of Fire magic. For independent runes that can be found in the world, the higher of the circles applies. In addition, both mages require 20 mana to learn the first circle, and 40 for the second. You must also learn the rune table handling once (for 5 DB for Myxir or Isgaroth). The runes you can learn can be found in the teachers section.

Instalation

  • This modification can only be installed on the German version of the 2.6 datadisk. Most of you probably have the English version 2.7. You can find instructions on how to switch from 2.7 to 2.6 here on the Gothicz.net forum - https://forum.gothicz.net/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=108 . Run it via GothicStarter.exe from the game directory /System.
