Mod Information
The storyline of the modification unfolds concurrently with Gothic 3 - at a time when the continent has just been invaded by orcs. The last place where paladin justice still prevailed was Austri - the westernmost island of the Eastern Archipelago. Orcs sought to claim it for themselves, so they sent their sizable military detachment there. The main target of the orcs was the trading city of Austri, which, as mentioned earlier, was located on the eponymous island.
The main hero of this story hails from Khorinis. At the age of sixteen, as a resident of the port city, he decided to join the local guard along with his best friend. Their youthful dream was to proudly walk the city streets in guard uniform. They wanted to be treated with respect and dignity as worthy protectors of society. Barely becoming guardsmen, the harsh reality of everyday life soon befell them. Hour after hour, they devoted themselves to dull patrols when the situation didn't require their intervention during the wild port commotions. Later, however, the magical barrier fell, and the whole situation changed. The Valley of Mines, including the castle, was overrun by hordes of Beliar's minions. Five black mages were endowed with the power of fallen dragons from the Valley of Mines by the god of darkness to lead his army. Khorinis had never faced such a serious threat before. When the shadow of this danger loomed over the borders of the Valley of Mines, a rebellion broke out on the farms of the farmer Onar. Mercenary Bullko violently seized power and murdered the man who had previously paid him for protection. Bullko, along with other mercenaries, formed an alliance with the approaching orcs.
Given the circumstances, the paladins in the port city had to prepare for the ominous invasion. Citizens were pressed into military service and underwent improvised basic training. Everyone was forced to contribute their three pennies, even if they were the poorest. As soon as the news of Xardas's destruction of runic magic reached the island, the orc attack on the city began. Supported by Bullko's treacherous mercenaries, the orcs occupied Khorinis, plundered, looted, murdered, and committed further atrocities. So how did the hero survive this hellish act of treachery and oppression unscathed? Well, at the time of the orc attack, he and his friend were near Orlan's inn. Only later were they enslaved by the orcs. Both found themselves on one of the orc slave ships sailing towards the Eastern Archipelago. They were sentenced to mine ore in the harshest conditions in the mines that once belonged to the paladins but had now fallen into the hands of the orcs since the Third Austrian War against the orcs. They believed that weapons made from this magical ore would serve as a means against the paladins. After all, unlike Khorinis, Austri was much better fortified. The paladins barricaded themselves in a mighty fortress, which, combined with sophisticated technology and the most powerful of the remaining fire mages on their side, was almost impregnable.
However, as life often goes, it likes to play games. The Eastern Archipelago consists of four islands arranged concentrically relative to a strong maritime current. The whim of nature, which has claimed many a ship, cargo, and lives that it has never given up on. Every child in the archipelago knows this peculiar force, but the orcs from Khorinis and their mercenaries did not know this area. And so it happened that the ship of our main hero fell into the fierce tide of the infamous current... It seemed all was lost, but by the biting hand of fate, they had aboard an old experienced sea wolf from the ranks of orcish mercenaries who sensed the threat. It could be said that fortune favored them in misfortune. He shouted orders, approached the helm, and sharply turned it to steer the ship to the edge of the whirlpool. But it was too late. Using all his experience, he only slightly averted the inevitable disaster and allowed those who still had a chance to disembark to do so. On the distant horizon, the peaks of Austri were already looming, their coastline signifying the only possible salvation at that moment. Was it luck or the power of desperation that saved them? Our hero and his friend were to be thrown ashore on one of the beaches of Austri... The heavy armor of the orcs and their mercenaries prevented any of these enslaved pursuers from reaching the beach.
Everyone found their grave in this aquatic hell. Only here does the truly unique part of the story of the main hero and his friend begin. Explore the archipelago and decide your future!
